Mahrinnart (also known as Marinna Shareef) is a Trinidadian multimedia artist whose work blends mixed media painting and digital media to explore themes of identity, cyclic trauma, and bipolar disorder. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, where she earned her Fine Arts degree in 2018. Her work has been featured at the National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago, and she was a part of the Emerging Artists group exhibition during Carifesta 2019.
In 2021, Shareef expanded her artistic practice through the Momentum virtual residency for recent graduates and further honed her craft as the recipient of the Alice Yard x The Caribbean Digital Residency in 2022. She also was an artist resident at York University, the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change in Toronto, Canada in 2025. Her achievements also include receiving the Catapult Arts Grant in 2022 and winning the Best New Media Award at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (TTFF) in 2023.
Currently, Shareef is completing a three-part exhibition series, with the final installation set to take place in 2025. Through her dynamic use of both traditional and digital media, Mahrinnart continues to create thought-provoking works that delve into her experiences as an Indo-Caribbean woman, confronting the complexities of mental health and personal history.
